Re: Possible Loss of Steering - Dynamic Power Steering (DPS) Shaft May Break

Dear Can-Am® Owner,

Following the interim notice issued in December 2017, BRP is sending you an updated notice.

BRP is conducting a safety recall on certain ATV models.

Our records show that you own a potentially affected vehicle.

What is the potential problem?

The DPS shaft may break causing a loss of steering control. In some circumstances, this situation may cause injuries or death.

Which models are involved?

Model year 2017 Can-Am Outlander™ / Outlander™ MAX™ equipped with a DPS and 450 or 570 engines.

What will BRP do?

BRP intends to repair your vehicle free of charge. The permanent solution is to change the DPS. The parts required to provide the remedy to this condition will be made available progressively.

What should you do?

Contact your authorized BRP Can-Am ATV dealer and upon availability of parts, schedule an appointment to have your vehicle repaired.

BRP recommends to avoid driving your vehicle until the permanent solution is performed unless the interim repair was performed for limited use.

The presence of aftermarket modifications will not prevent you from receiving this service at no cost. The presence of these modifications, while the service is being completed, will not void any existing warranty or service contract.

What to do if you feel this notice is an error?

This notice was mailed to you according to the most current information we have available. If you no longer own this vehicle or some information in this notice is incorrect, please contact BRP at your earliest convenience.

If you have questions or need assistance, or to find the nearest authorized BRP dealer:

• Visit : http://uk.brp.com/off-road/

• Or call: +44 20 88 65 04 89

We have taken this action in the interest of your safety and your vehicle's proper operation.

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this matter may have caused and for the delay in providing a permanent solution. Rest assured that BRP employees and BRP authorized dealers continue to be fully mobilized to provide you the remedy as quickly as possible.

Everything we do at BRP is aimed at providing you the best powersport experience out there and we thank you for your trust.
